Tournament Tour and Circuit

Midwest Circuit and North American Tour
The Milwaukee Table Tennis Club is proud to announce that the Butterfly Badger Open participates in two new table tennis tournament tours – the Midwest Circuit and the North American Tour.

Why Have a Tournament Tour?
We believe that tournament tours can be an integral factor for the future growth of table tennis in this country by providing more high level competition. And, tournament tours and circuits give players greater opportunity to earn prize money. Consequently, tournaments must pay in order to participate in these tours. Please consider competing in tournaments that partake in tours and circuits.

How Do the Tours Work?

For both the Midwest Circuit and the North American Tour, players earn points by competing in participating tournaments (usually 4 Star events) and finishing first, second, semis or 5-8 in the Open event.  In the Midwest Circuit there are three divisions, players rated over 2000, those under 2000, and for juniors 18 years old or younger.

Tournaments involved in the Midwest Circuit are America’s Team Championship and the Butterfly Badger Open. The 2014 MW Circuit winners will be announced and prize money awarded at the conclusion of the Badger Open.

Starting in 2015, the 4 Star Butterfly Aurora Cup in January and the Arnold Table Tennis Challenge in OH will also join in the MW Circuit. For more information on the Midwest Circuit, including how the point system works and prize money distribution, see Midwest Circuit Rules 2014.

The North American Tour is run by Bruce Liu of the Bay Area Table Tennis Federation. This tour is national in scope with many 4 Star tournaments involved. The tour tournaments are on the east and west coasts. The Butterfly Badger Open is the ONLY tournament in the Midwest that participates in the North American Tour.
